Daily Routine: What Works With RENOVA

To further enhance the health and beauty of your skin when you use RENOVA, follow a comprehensive skincare regimen. Talk with your dermatologist to find the skincare regimen that's right for you.

Use a gentle cleanser when you wash your face. Look for something mild and non-medicated that is oil-free and non-comedogenic (won't clog pores) like Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser®.

Be careful not to use cleansers or acne products with benzoyl peroxide in them, as this ingredient neutralizes tretinoin, the active ingredient in RENOVA.. Talk to a doctor before using any other product with a wrinkle-fighting ingredient. Also, watch out for astringents and aftershaves with alcohol, spices or lime in them. They might irritate your skin.

Every morning, use a light moisturizer—preferably one that is non-irritating, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. The moisturizer should have a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 15 or higher to protect your sensitive skin from the sun's rays. Try Neutrogena Healthy Skin® Face Lotion SPF 15 or Neutrogena® Healthy Defense® Daily Moisturizer SPF 30.

Even if you do not wear moisturizer, be sure to wear sunscreen. Using RENOVA can make your skin more sensitive to irritation from sun exposure. Find a sunscreen that is oil-free—such as a gel- or water-based one—with an SPF factor of 15 or higher.

Most people are able to wear makeup while using RENOVA. Make sure to clean your face before using cosmetics and wash off cosmetics before using the medication. As with cleansers and moisturizers, finding makeup that is non-comedogenic and oil-free is a plus. Talk with your doctor about recommended cosmetics. Neutrogena Healthy Skin® Liquid Makeup is specially formulated to reduce the look of fine lines, refine skin texture and improve skin clarity.

Ask your doctor if you have any questions about what products you should use.
